Travel Diaries... Scotland In Pictures

Throughout the Christmas and New Year holidays we went to stay at the very famous Loch Ness in Scotland. We stayed in a lovely little village called Milton which is just down the road from the Loch. I can't describe how picturesque, beautiful and peaceful it was to have been in Scotland for the Holidays. I feel so refreshed and ready for 2017, I had two weeks to see the sights, celebrate, relax and plan new ideas for this year. It really is the perfect place to have a relaxing holiday and to take in such mesmerising views. So for this post I really just wanted to show a few pictures of the different locations we visited and to create a more picturesque blog post.

Goals for 2017

So first, I know that I am a little late to the party as it is well into January now, however I did not really want to count these as resolutions but as a fresh and brighter year. They are more goals and ambitions of what I want to achieve by the end of this year and how I want to feel with how well 2017 will go. I am determined. I also have taken a lot of time to think about them and what I really want instead of the typical resolutions that everybody has and nobody sticks to. This year is about improvement, ambition and work.

Without further rambling, my goals for this year...

At college we were introduced to blogging to use it as a showcase for our work and I never used it to my full potential and realised what I could achieve with it, however I really started to love reading other blogs and I especially loved watching bloggers on Youtube, they have now become part of my daily life. I love keeping up with their subscriptions and feel instantly inspired by their fashion and beauty videos. Therefore, I scrapped my college blog and started a new one. This blog is about to be re-branded and styled as I can be quite a perfectionist and I didn't want to post onto a blog that I was not personally happy with. So my aim now is to make my blog into something that I am proud of and that makes me think, this is all mine and I have really carefully thought of every aspect of it. So from now on I will be posting consistently as well as adding new aspects to my blog, I have so many fun ideas for the upcoming year so keep checking weekly to find out more!

Carrying on from Blogging, I also want to start my own Youtube account this year. I feel like it is the right path for me to step down and something that would really suit me. I am currently in the process of setting up the right equipment and background and just making sure that I have everything together ready. As I said before, I am a perfectionist and I know over time my video quality and editing will improve but I still don't want to start out with a poor standard. I really want to have created a lot of fresh and unique ideas, I especially want my art work to be a huge part of the content for my blog and Youtube. I really want to showcase my University work and my own individual projects and photoshoots. So keep an eye out for my Youtube channel soon!

This really does not just have to be related to blogging, however part of my improvement does help my blog. Though, the other part of my improvement relates to studying fashion design. While designing a collection I always love to plan a photoshoot or video, sometimes even before designing. Photography is an art that I am really interested in and that inspires my designs and collections, I think that it is a huge part of the industry and what I want to eventually achieve.

Last year I felt like I lost my way with my art work, I used to love to paint so it is something that I really want to be focusing on throughout my gap year.
I know that my work has improved so much just by practising art that inspires me, it doesn't always have to be related to fashion, as it can actually inspire a design or photoshoot more if it isn't.
So I really want to and know that I will carry this on throughout the next year, including attending art evening workshops which I really want to start.

For Christmas I got the Madeleine Shaw 'Get the Glow' cookbook, I would also say that it is so much more than a book full of recipes, she explains food and different ways that certain ingredients can be good or bad for you, it genuinely helps you understand a more easy way of eating and your general lifestyle. I would say that for a huge part of last year I tried to eat more healthy, not as a diet but just because I wanted to and I enjoyed it. Although, I did not do it to the extent that I wanted to so it is my plan to get into this more and more each week. In the cookbook it actually advises to complete stages week by week and that is really what I am aiming for. I will be creating more blog posts on this so keep posted!

My main aim this year is to complete all of these for myself and I know that I have already started these goals so the year is off to an amazing start. It is all about determination and how to change this year to improve myself and to get where I want to be. I already know 2017 will be an amazing year.

So that is all of my main goals for this year and I am so excited to see what 2017 has in store! I hope that every one of you has an amazing year and that you have set your own personal goals, please let me know what they are in the comments below, I would love to hear them!

Thank you so much for reading!

Makeup and Skincare Haul

While being at University the last year I have not had chance to spend money and really invest in makeup and skincare like I used to. So when I got home I wanted to buy really good products that I knew would help my skin and last me for ages as I had literally ran out of everything.

Starting with skincare I chose La Roche-Posay which I actually saw on a snapchat, the beauty editor of Glamour, Alessandra Steinherr does a sunday facial on her snapchat for different skin types and it is literally my favourite time because she is so amazing and knows everything and more about skincare. This skincare brand is amazing, I brought their 'cleanser', 'toner' and 'moisturiser' to see how the full set would work. I did wonder whether the cleanser would remove makeup properly, but I applied it all over my face and using a hot cloth I wiped away all traces of makeup. I then use the toner and spray it on my face and just let it soak into my skin, it feels so refreshing and cool. I then obviously use the moisturiser which is supposed to keep skin matte all day which is so true. Usually after cleansing, my skin will be oily an hour later and this really helps with that, my skin stays refreshed, moisturised and soft but not oily. I think thats the huge difference with creams for oily skin types, they still need to be moisturised but stop the oil and acne as well.

Next on my skincare list is body moisturiser, I wasn't sure on what to buy and I really want to find one that helps red undertoned skin but having used 'Dove' before I know that their products are amazing and make skin so soft. Also this moisturiser was such a good price in Boots.

Moving onto makeup, I have never been able to find a foundation that makes my skin stay matte all day and doesn't feel like my face is oily if I touch it. I have heard so many comments about how amazing Chanel make up is and how it lasts throughout the day. At first I was unsure whether it was just the name that made the products but after using the 'Perfection Lumiere Velvet Powder Finish Foundation,' I just cannot get over how amazing it is. I don't get shiny, it doesn't feel like it is clogging my skin and it also has a powder finish which is so perfect for me. I also have been using it along with a sample which is the 'Le Blanc de Chanel Primer.' This can be worn by itself or under foundation and it just colour corrects, mattifies and even provides coverage, it creates an almost flawless effect. These two products together are just a match made in heaven.
To make these even better is the 'Chanel Soleil cream Bronzer,' I have used this before from a friend and having tried so many bronzers I have not found anything like it. It creates a perfect but natural contour, a highlight and a glowy yet not shiny finish. It blends so easily and it provides whatever coverage you would like, so a little for a light contour, but by brushing on more it can build up. I cannot recommend it anymore, it is my go to product.

Beauty Tip... The counter also give you a small type of spatula which you can see on the pictures, so basically you are supposed to scoop a little out and put it either on your hand or a palette so then you don't use your brush in the pot which helps to stop spreading germs and oil, this is such a perfect tip for oily skin!

Next is a high street concealer, having heard so many reviews I thought I would try the 'Maybelline sponge eraser
concealer.' I accidentally got a shade too dark which is so frustrating, the lighting in Boots is a nightmare for testing makeup but blended with a primer it instantly lightens up. It blends so smoothly and gives a perfect coverage, it doesn't clog but it covers dark circles and any redness. I will definitely be going back for a lighter shade.

Usually I use a more yellow coloured powder to help contour and cover any redness but I do think it looks so much more caked onto the skin and I want more of a natural look as my foundation and concealers provide enough coverage. The
'Mac prep and prime transparent finishing powder,' creates such a lovely matte and soft finish.

I always go back to Max Factor for mascara, it never marks under my eye, it creates long and deep black lashes and it definitely can give a false lash effect.
I think they are the most perfect mascara's and the one I have chosen is 'Glamour Extensions.' I love the packaging of this, it looks very sleek and the gold I think makes it look more expensive.

I am holding out for the Anastasia Beverly Hills brow powder but until then I am going back to my favourite 'Soap and Glory Archery Pencil.' It creates a natural brow and really stays in place all day. I do feel like the colour is a little dark for me, I think that they should create more of a natural brown, however if blended in it really softens up.

Having run out of Nude lipglosses which are my ultimate go to product, I wanted to buy one that I could wear with so many different makeup looks on a day to day basis, I am trying the 'Maybelline vivid matte liquid.'
Even though it is a matt finish it still feels super soft and it doesn't flake, which I do hate with Matt lipsticks. This colour I would say definitely has a more pink tone, so I it is a brighter shade of nude lipsticks.

So that is all of my skincare and beauty haul, I know that there were so many products but I had to re-stock on half of my makeup and skincare bag so there was so much to buy. I really hope that you enjoyed reading through this, and that it has inspired you to go out and buy some of these makeup necessities.
. I am planning on starting a youtube channel within the next few weeks so I will make sure to make a video including all of these!

Trends from Fashion Month

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

After all of the fashion shows over the last month, it has inspired me to write a blog post on all of the trends that are coming in and the ones that are staying for S/S 2017 and even for A/W 2016 that is obviously already here. The weather is definitely getting colder so it is time to starting filling wardrobes with jumpers, gilets and winter coats, this is my ultimate favourite fashion time of the year. I made a little change with this post because while showing my favourite looks for fashion week I wasn't sure about the layout and I wanted to create a group of images together instead of writing a post that is so long and I really do not want my blog to be boring, So let me know what you think of these collages!

Such a popular style at the moment is to pair a jumper with a tulle skirt for a really relaxed yet pretty and preppy look, or to totally dress up glamorous and wear a see through, embellished dress. The princess style and dress code is so popular right now. I love it so much, tulle can be so pretty and feminine, perfect for any evening out or any occasion. I would personally style it with heels, maybe even a cute bomber jacket depending on the dress or skirt and a statement clutch bag. I definitely have more of a girly look so this trend is perfect for Christmas Parties.

Nobody creates this style quite like Balmain, but many designers were using it for this fashion month. I think that these looks are so sexy yet still elegant and glamourous. Off the shoulder can still be covered up but showing a little skin can make any outfit become instantly for parties, evenings out or special occasions. I honestly think that cut outs can be worn in Winter and Summer, whether it is a maxi, colourful dress for a party or the same dress for a beach, this trend is a perfect staple to have all year round. My favourite tip is to buy red as it can be a perfect Christmas colour or a holiday getaway outfit, paired with a red lip and sparkly heels.

So patchwork jackets have been popular so much since summer but I feel like this trend is only going to get bigger. Embroidered flowers can be used to style pretty and elegant outfits or can add a more grungy effect to something like a denim jacket. I love this style as it makes an outfit have a personal and signature look. It isn't even just jackets that have this trend at the moment; cardigans, tops, dresses, boots and jeans are all the latest in the shops. I have had the pink bomber jacket on my Asos list for ages and I think that now it is on sale I might just have to purchase it!

Lace is always so glamorous, I have already mentioned that in MFW Dolce and Gabbana design it like no one else. Although, for a more affordable price, Self Portrait have amazing outfits that are so beautiful. I think that what is so perfect about it is it can be designed see through or have a lining so you can really wear it any way that you would like and with lace being so beautiful and elegant on anyone, no can say no. Next year I am going travelling and this trend will definitely be on my list for Italy, I feel like all of these outfits have such an Italian look and elegance about them.
I think that this must be one of the biggest trends of the moment, satin lingerie camis or slit dresses are seen on every supermodel. Not to mention the pyjama style that is selling out everywhere. This look is so perfect to rock a super sexy outfit, it just makes me think of shimmer, a gold Tom Ford tan, and a strong makeup face. This has to be my favourite trend of the moment and for Spring/ Summer 2017.

So this look I feel totally started off with Yeezy, and the Kardashians rocking it, especially Kim herself. I usually have a more pretty, girly style but I actually love this look and it is totally filling up my Asos list at the moment. The brand Bones, sold on Asos, is a new one that I have found and it creates this comfortable, laid back style perfectly. Though my absolute favourite designer to pull this off from fashion month is Monse, the oversized shirt is so perfect for any day or night outfit.

Burberry had the most beautiful and creative designs at LFW and this whole Queen Victoria style is more than glamorous, it is pretty, feminine, elegant and definitely has an English country house style. I think that this look has stemmed into the fashion world from the sunken ship that was found and a lady's dress that was recovered, I love how a story can affect so many different aspects of the world including the fashion industry. This means pussybow blouses, english patterns and elegant dresses are in for Winter.

I really hope you liked this post and that it inspired you to go shopping as it definitely did with me. Starting from next week I will post every Monday in between 6-7pm, so please keep reading!

PFW- Favourite Looks &Trends

PFW is always my favourite, from the likes of major fashion houses such as Chanel, Dior and Balmain to red carpet dreams at Elie Saab and effortless style at Lanvin. There are many designers to love in Paris.

I love that there is now a woman as the head designer of Dior, I think to say that it is such a feminine brand it is a huge step forward. Although, I have to say the collection is not my favourite so far, the inspiration is to create clothing for all types of women as well as being practical, therefore Dior can cater to a larger amount of customers. I think that this is such an amazing idea as women now work, exercise, run homes, have their own businesses, have girly nights out, and a small few appearing in front of millions of camera's every year. I loved the classic shapes of Dior and the new ways of recreating them, but I am so excited to see where Maria Grazia Chiuri takes the brand.

Balmain every year dresses to impress, the fabrics are so luxurious and draped perfectly. This collection is unusual compared to the others as Balmain usually uses tassels and embellishment to cover the dresses although I think that these garments look so much more effortless and chic. The colours are so beautiful and bright as well, they really stand out.

This brand always has the most luxurious fabrics, it is always classic but still modern. I really love this collection, I think that it also caters for so many different occasions as well.

This dress is so gorgeous with its flowing, princess style bodice and skirt.

I feel like the cut out shoulder is really in at the moment so to create it with a zip is such a modern and stylish way to wear it. You could even fully unzip it and wear a really lacy bra underneath. This whole collection is inspired by sharks and I really think that in certain outfits you can really imagine the movement and an under the sea style.

I love the coats in these two outfits. A long coat over a gown is so feminine and elegant, coats can really add to any outfit!

I love it when this brand create 'Valentino Red' dresses as it is their iconic colour which was named after the brand. They are so timeless and this dress is so on trend right now.

I love this new look for workwear, it is experimenting with the typical office outfit and creating it into something much more daring and not for a typical 9-5 profession. I think each outfit is tailored yet cool and fresh.

I have loved New York, London, Milan and Paris fashion weeks so much, it has been amazing to find  new brands to lust after and to see all of the trends coming up. I really hope that you have enjoyed just glancing at my favourites and my next post will be up soon about the trends that are staying and the new ones coming in. So keep reading!

Thank you!
