Travel Diaries, Places to go in Holland

Hello! So here is another Travel Diary about my time away in Holland before and after Paris. I have been to Holland so many times as my Sister and Brother in law have lived there for seven years, although this is going to be my last visit for a while as they are moving back to England in a few weeks! It is really sad to know that I won't be going back for a while but I would definitely consider going for a weekend. I wanted to show you a few pictures of what I did while I was there but also tell you other places to visit that I have been to on other trips.
So first I'll give a little list of where to go!

1. My number one favourite place in Holland is Utrecht, it is a beautiful, picturesque city which is very much like any place in Holland with the Canals and tall buildings surrounding them. Although I think that Utrecht is so much more stunning and peaceful. Rotterdam and Amsterdam are quite built up and busy, yet Utrecht reminds me more of a large village with cobbled, pretty streets, independent shops, and modern cafes. It is also famous for the Dom Tower which is 368 feet in height and the tallest church tower in The Netherlands. Only climb up if you don't mind walking up the mountain of steep steps although you stop at every stage and get shown different parts of the tower. The view at the top is so worth it!

2. Rotterdam is where I have visited the most because that is where my family lives. It is amazing for shopping although Amsterdam is bigger and does have more shops. I love going into the shopping centre and sitting at the cafe at the top, it has a really cool view and the food is perfect for lunch! The speed boats in Rotterdam are amazing as well, they are basically river taxi's and are so funny, especially in the warm weather, just make sure to hold on really tightly and not to wear hair accessories... trust me.
There are a lot of sights in Rotterdam as well, such as the cube houses (pictured below), the euromass where you can eat at the restaurant at the top, and the huge bridges!

3. Amsterdam... Obviously Amsterdam is the reason most people go to Holland, for the nights out, the hen/ stag parties, the shopping and because it is a short, cheap flight. It is a really interesting city to walk around and go shopping, to eat out and to get lost and not realise you are in the red light district. Though that is the fun of it, to be with a group of family or friends and to just find it funny to try and find where to go. There is another side of Amsterdam, which is a metro ride away to visit the art galleries and the huge letters that you might have seen everyone take photos with. I really want to visit the RijksMuseum again if I went back! That side is a lot prettier though not where everyone usually visits!

Holland is an amazing place to go and see loads of different sights. One tip would be to be prepared for a city break, it doesn't have countryside, or swimming pools dotted all over, it is very built up and busy, though still beautiful.

I wanted to include a photo of my flight because I couldn't believe how beautiful the clouds looked. It made me really sad with everything that is going on in the world at the moment, when you are looking down at masses of fields and towns and cities it was so upsetting to think that someone would want to destroy it. So I wanted to show a picture of beauty and hope that the rest of the world could be as beautiful one day.

A few interior idea's from Liz and Tom's flat, it is my dream, so I just wanted to show how amazing it was to stay there...

A little day out in Rotterdam, it was really lovely to see the amazing Market Hall, I would definitely recommend it, especially if you are wanting to collect food to take home.

I loved this really sporty window display, it looked really simple yet it stood out.

So these are cube apartments, each cube has two different flats in, they're built on a flat surface but with slanted walls. If you walk into the middle of them they all look down at you in a circle, it is amazingly designed! I think that they suit Holland really well, because it is very built up and very structural, especially around the market hall where there are so many different types of buildings like this one.

This is the roof of the market hall...

The loveliest thing about the rivers are being able to one, look out of your window to them, and to also go and feed the swans and ducks on a summer evening. It is so scenic as even though you are in a city you still have nature.

Homemade Pizza was delicious...

I hope you have enjoyed my travel diaries, I will make sure to write one for every time I go away somewhere! Thank you for reading!

Travel Diaries,19 in Paris

This week has been such a crazy week for me, first of all I have turned 19! Though most importantly it was in Paris with my sisters. I actually have two travel diaries to post, one in Paris and another in Holland as I am currently in Holland visiting my sister and brother in law, and then I went to Paris in between before coming back here! It has been a little busy!

Explaining further, for my birthday present my three sisters got me a trip to Paris and Beyonce tickets for the Formation World Tour which was actually on my birthday itself. So it was the most amazing birthday present, especially because I listen to Beyonce non stop. So I just wanted to share a few pictures with you all, it was really nice to visit places that weren't just in the city centre and to see normal city life in Paris. I wanted to take pictures that did really interest me, so even little things like buildings, the shops and streets, it just all looks so pretty yet rustic, and inspirational.

I just want to apologise as the photo quality isn't what I would have liked as I forgot my camera, so it is all by phone.

These few photo's are all around the area we stayed, which was about 30 minutes out of the centre on public transport but if you're in a big group we found it easier to catch a taxi which took half the time. It was so pretty and it would be amazing to live there, it had Parisian cafes on the street corners with bakery's and shops filling the rest of the street.

I think every one can guess what these photo's are, the Beyonce concert was literally the most amazing night of my life. The outfits she wore were insane, I can't believe she actually looks like that in real life, haha, she is so stunning. The dancers and background videos and effects were nothing like I've even seen before, you can just see how much effort goes into the show, I loved it! I am going to write a separate post on each outfit I wore in Paris, so you might see a few odd outfit pictures but because I don't have my camera I am going to take new pictures to post so that it looks more professional. I am also going to create a hair and make up tutorial on the look of the Beyonce night so there are quite a few posts coming soon!

A few pictures of our day out in Paris city centre!

I really want to go back to Paris just for the weekend to stay on the montmartre and visit all of the fabric shops, it was the most cultural place and I love visiting areas where people actually live and have a life there, instead of millionaires row where everyone has a holiday home so it is actually empty. As much I love being around Dior, Balmain, Chanel and all of the other designers, I find smaller towns and shops and sights just as inspiring, if not more. Everyone can go to the smaller shops whereas not everyone shops at Dior, so it is really nice to visit all types of places and see everything.
It has been the most amazing birthday week in Paris, thank you to my sisters!! and to Queen Bee!

Two little GIFs to entertain us on the train back to Holland...
